Types of Smart TV Available
A smart TV uses an integrated Native Development Kit or NDK and Public Software Development Kits or PDKs to install or uninstall any desired app using the internet. Smart TVs are normally categorized into two major groups: Resolution support and Display technology. Based on resolution support Smart TVs are divided into HD, Full HD, UltraHD. If a TV support resolution is less than 1920x1080 or 1080 pixels then it is called HD. If it supports 1080 pixels it is called full HD. If the resolution support is equal to or more than 3840x 2160 then it is called Ultra HD or UHD. UHD TVs are also known as 4K Ultra HD TVs and the latest iteration is called The 8K.
The second classification is Based on Display technology. In this criteria, smart TVs can be categorized into LCD and LED sets, OLED and QLED. Most TVs available today are LED and LCD sets. They use a combination of the LCD panel with an LED light at the back. OLED TVs use Organic Light-Emitting Diodes to display anything. This display emits light in response to the electric charge. The OLED TV has a good image and video quality. QLEDs are the next generation of LCDs. They use Quantum Light Emitting Diodes or Quantum Dots (very small nanoparticles). It highly improves brightness and color. There are some common features in every TV like Cross-platform App support, Bluetooth, Wifi, and USB. TV from each brand also offers some brand-exclusive features. As an example, we can mention proprietary cloud storage services like Samsung All-share.

The software platform is another important factor to categorize a Smart TV. Every Brand has its exclusive Operating system or Software Platform. The first one is WebOS. It is a popular high-speed Operating system from LG. It is good for media streaming platforms like Youtube, Netflix, or Amazon Prime. It is a little hard to customize. They have a lot of compatibility with many software. The next is Samsung Tizen. It is a lot like webOS but it is easy to customize and very user-friendly. The third popular OS is the most common Android OS. It is the most used Smart device OS in The world. The most popular content hubs include Netflix, YouTube, HULU, Disney Plus, etc is supported. This is very customizable and user-friendly. It is good for gaming too. Most well-known brands like Sony, Sharp, or Philips use Android OS in their Smart TVs. Some lesser-known exclusive Operating systems are brand specific. As an example, we can name the fire-OS. It is exclusive to Panasonic TVs only. This OS is easy to navigate but supports very few cross-platform apps.
